Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire and Jack:
- Take out the spare tire and jack from the trunk.

Remove Plastic Rivets:
- Detach the two plastic rivets securing the fascia tabs to the vehicle. Use a screwdriver to remove the center of each rivet. Save the rivets for reinstallation.

Scrape Undercoating:
- Remove the undercoating from the bottom surface of the trunk reinforcement to ensure proper contact with the hardware.

Fishwire Carriage Bolt and Spacer:
- Attach the pull wire to a 1/2”-13 x 2” carriage bolt and a square hole spacer.
- Insert the assembly through the slot located behind the trunk reinforcement and pull it through to ensure the bolt and spacer are flat against the bottom.

Position Reinforcement Plate:
- Place the reinforcement plate inside the spare tire well, aligning the 1-1/2” length with the bottom of the trunk. Position it between the ribs as shown in the diagram.

Drill Holes:
- Drill two 1/2” holes through the trunk pan, using the reinforcement plate as a guide.

Install Carriage Bolts:
- Insert two carriage bolts through the reinforcement plate and the drilled holes.
- Place round hole spacers over the bolts on the opposite side of the bulkhead.

Attach Hitch:
- Lift the hitch into position, ensuring the spacers are sandwiched between the bulkhead and the hitch.
- Loosely secure the hitch with conical washers and hex nuts.

Attach to Trunk Reinforcement:
- Secure the hitch’s crossbar to the trunk reinforcement using conical washers and hex nuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Center the hitch on the vehicle.
- Torque all 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

Apply Sealant:
- Seal the carriage bolt attachment points inside the spare tire well to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle.

Reattach Components:
- Reinstall the plastic rivets to the fascia tabs.
- Replace the spare tire and jack in the trunk.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Remove the rear threshold plate temporarily.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Locate the Vehicle’s Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connector carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Clean all connector surfaces to remove dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat step 3 on the passenger side using the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or cross member.
- Clean the grounding area and drill a 3/32” hole. Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Mount the Black Box:
- In the driver’s side storage area, clean a flat surface using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the T-Connector’s black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Route the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector from below the threshold plate into the trunk.
- Store the connector in the trunk when not in use.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame to the vehicle battery, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wire.
Warning:
- If routing the wire along the exterior of the vehicle, avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and the fuel tank.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal of the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold plate, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the T-Connector functionality with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
