Step-by-Step Instructions:

Trim or Remove Appearance Panel:
- Obtain the owner’s permission before trimming the appearance panel.
- Trim the shaded area on both sides as shown in Figure 4. Reinstall the trimmed appearance panel or return it to the owner with fasteners.
- Leave remaining fasteners off until the hitch is installed.

Insert Carriage Bolts and Blocks:
- Use pull wires to guide the carriage bolts and blocks through the frame rail access holes as shown in Figure 2.
- Feed the pull wire through the forward hole and out the rearward access slot. Attach the spacer and carriage bolt and pull them into place using the kink wire process. Repeat for both sides. Leave pull wires attached.

Install Fasteners:
- Raise the hitch into position and feed the pull wires through the forward and rearward slots in the hitch brackets. The middle slot will align with the appearance panel stud in the frame.

Secure Hitch:
- Carefully remove the pull wires and attach the conical washers and hex nuts to the bolts. Hand-tighten and center the hitch on the vehicle.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 55 Lb.-Ft. (75 N*M).

Reinstall Appearance Panel:
- If the appearance panel was trimmed, reinstall it using two fasteners.

- (4) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.50” GR5
- (4) Spacers
- (4) Conical Washers: 7/16”
- (4) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14
- (4) Pull Wires: 7/16”
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always observe safety precautions and wear eye protection when working under the vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Ford Fusion

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Locate the Vehicle Wiring Harness:
- Open the vehicle’s rear cargo area and partially remove the plastic threshold cover and felt trunk liner.
- Remove two 10mm nuts from the back of the taillight housing. Remove the taillights from both driver and passenger sides.

Prepare the Taillight Wire Harness:
- Pull the vehicle taillight wire harness on both driver and passenger sides. Unseat the grommet and slit it to allow the T-Connector wiring.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- From inside the trunk, route the T-Connector with yellow and brown wires through the grommet on the driver’s side.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-Connector with the yellow wire in between the vehicle’s mating connectors on the driver’s side.

Route and Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector inside the vehicle.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the surface behind before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Mount the T-Connector Black Box:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface to mount the black box module using the provided double-sided tape.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame to the engine compartment.
Warning: Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the fuse back into the fuse holder.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk area when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 5.6 amps
