Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Frame Rails:
- Examine the bottom of the frame rails and remove any weld spatter to ensure the hitch sits flat.
- Remove all but a thin film of undercoating from the attaching surfaces.

Fishwire Rearward Bolts:
- Feed the 1/2" carriage bolts and 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 3" spacer blocks through the body mount access holes and into the existing slots in the frame rails.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position over the bolts and loosely install the conical washers (teeth side facing hitch) and hex nuts.
- Ensure both sides of the hitch are positioned identically within the slots (e.g., forward, centered, or rearward).

Relocate Exhaust Hanger (2003 and Later Lincoln Town Car):
- Unbolt the passenger-side exhaust hanger bracket from the vehicle frame.
- Remove the rubber hanger from both the hanger bracket and the tailpipe bracket.
- Rotate the rubber hanger and reattach it to the hanger bracket. Do not reattach it to the tailpipe bracket at this time. Discard the existing hanger bolt.

Drill Frame Holes:
- Using the hitch as a template, drill a rearward hole into the bottom of each frame rail with a 1/2" drill bit.

Install Rearward Fasteners:
- Drop a 1/2" bolt with a 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2" spacer block down through the access hole at the end of each frame rail and into the drilled holes.
- Hold the spacer block in place with one hand while guiding the bolt through the hole.

Secure Hitch:
- Tighten all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N*m).
- Tighten all M8 CL8.8 fasteners to 20 lb-ft (27 N*m).

Reattach Exhaust Hanger (2003 and Later Lincoln Town Car):
- Reattach the passenger-side exhaust hanger bracket as shown in Figure 3.
Torque Specifications:
- 1/2"-13 GR5 bolts: 75 lb-ft (102 N*m)
- M8 CL8.8 bolts: 20 lb-ft (27 N*m)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.

- No Power to 4-Flat: Check the chassis ground and ensure the module is properly connected to a constant power source.
