Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Tow Hooks:
- Remove the tow hooks from the frame rails and return them to the vehicle owner.

Remove Plastic Caps:
- Remove the plastic caps from the forward attaching holes in the frame rails.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and align it with the existing weldnuts in the frame rails.

Install Fasteners:
- Secure the hitch using the provided M10 x 1.25 x 30 mm CL10.9 hex bolts and conical toothed washers (teeth side against the hitch).
- Tighten all M10 x 1.25 CL10.9 fasteners to 42 lb-ft (57 N*m) using a torque wrench.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Wiring Access Location:
- Rear taillight assemblies and cargo area.
Tools Required:
- 8mm, 10mm, and 13mm socket and ratchet or wrench.
- Test probe.
- Trim panel remover.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Highlander:
- Open the rear tailgate.
- Remove the access panel on the driver’s side to locate the rear of the taillight (Fig. d). Repeat on the passenger side.
- Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays (Fig. e). Set all items aside carefully to avoid damage.
Azera:
- Open the trunk and remove the threshold panel.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner on the driver’s side to expose the taillight wiring (Fig. j).

Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness on both sides.
- The harness will have a connection point matching the ends of the T-Connector.
- Separate the connectors carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt (Fig. f & j).

Insert the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locked in place (Fig. g & j).

Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side.
- Repeat step 3 on the passenger’s side.

Locate the existing ground stud.
- Loosen the bolt, place the screw eyelet on the stud, and retighten the bolt (Fig. h & j).

Mount the T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness with the provided cable ties.
- Ensure wires are not pinched or cut to prevent damage or rattling (Fig. i & j).

Reposition and reattach all removed panels, trays, and the threshold.

Test the installation with a test light or trailer.
