Installation Instructions for Toyota Tundra

Tools Required:

• 3/4" Socket
• 18mm Socket
• Torque Wrench

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Position the Receiver:

   • Lift the receiver up to the frame of the vehicle.
   • Align the large holes in the receiver brackets over the rivet heads on the frame.

2. Install Bolts to Weld Nuts:

   • Install four (4) 1/2" serrated washers onto four (4) 12mm hex bolts.
   • Insert the bolts through the receiver brackets and into the weld nuts in the frame.

3. Install Carriage Bolts and Plates:

   • Place two (2) bolt plates over two (2) 1/2" carriage bolts.
   • Insert the bolts down through the frame and receiver brackets.
   • Secure with 1/2" serrated washers and 1/2" lock nuts.

4. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Torque the 12mm bolts to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
   • Torque the 1/2" nuts to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).

Torque Specifications:

• 12mm Bolts: 75 lb-ft (102 N·m)
• 1/2" Nuts: 75 lb-ft (102 N·m)

Hardware List:

• (4) 12mm Hex Bolts
• (4) 1/2" Serrated Washers
• (2) Bolt Plates
• (2) 1/2" Carriage Bolts
• (2) 1/2" Lock Nuts

Safety Notes:

• Do not lubricate threads; bolt failure may occur due to over-tightening.
• Do not drill or weld to this hitch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Part Numbers:

• 118367

Wiring Access Location:

• Underneath the vehicle on the driver’s side near the frame rail and between the bumper and spare tire.

Tools Required:

• Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
• Tie wraps (provided).
• 50/50 water-alcohol solution for cleaning.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.

2. Temporarily remove the battery hold-down bracket and slide the battery toward the motor to access the area near the fender (Fig. 2).

3. Locate the vehicle’s gray connector between the battery and the fender.

   • Remove the cap from the gray connector.
   • Install the trailer harness fuse holder connector into the vehicle’s gray connector.
   • Tie wrap the gray connector and fuse holder harness to the vehicle’s wiring.
   • Return the battery to its original position.

   Note: Some vehicles may have a 30-amp trailer harness fuse holder already installed. Remove it and use the yellow fuse holder and 10-amp fuse provided (15-amp maximum fuse allowed).

4. Route the trailer harness fuse holder wiring to the positive side of the battery.

   • Attach the ring terminal to the positive battery post (Fig. 2).

5. Secure the trailer fuse holder wire with two tie wraps (Fig. 3).

6. Reinstall the battery hold-down bracket.

   • Install the 10-amp fuse into the yellow fuse holder.
   • Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.

7. Locate the vehicle’s trailer tow plug under the vehicle near the driver’s side frame rail.

   • Remove the cap from the plug.
   • Connect the T-Connector harness to the vehicle’s plug (Fig. 4).

8. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

9. Clean the truck mounting surface with a 50/50 water-alcohol solution.

   • Use the double-sided tape provided to mount the black converter box to the truck’s end sill (Fig. 6).

10. Secure the T-Connector wire harness to the vehicle’s harness using the provided tie wraps.

    • Specifications:
      • This unit is rated for 7.5 amps per circuit.
