Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Rearmost Spring Shackle Mounting Bolts:
- Remove the two outer bolts on each frame rail as shown in Figure 2.
- Retain bolts for hitch installation.
- Note: Do not remove the center bolts.

Remove Forward M12 Bolt:
- Remove the M12 bolt located just forward of the spring shackle on each side.
- Retain this bolt for hitch installation.

Raise Hitch Into Position:
- Pivot one side of the hitch as far forward toward the axle as possible to manipulate the forward mounting tab over the leaf spring.
- Pivot the side into position, then repeat for the other side.
- Note: If the spring shackle interferes with installation, gently pry it clear of the hitch side bracket using a screwdriver. Proper clearance will exist after installation.

Install Fasteners:
- Reuse the existing M10 and M12 fasteners for all attachments as shown in the diagrams.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners to 53 lb-ft (72 N·m).
- Tighten all M12 CL10.9 fasteners to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
Hardware List:
- (2) Blocks (orient with the long side perpendicular to the vehicle)
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Wiring Access Location:
- Rear taillight wiring harness behind the vehicle’s rear taillamp housings.
Tools Required:
- Utility knife
- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit
- Circuit tester
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Rear Taillamp Housings:
- Remove both of the vehicle’s rear taillamp housings (Fig. 1).
- Slide the red locking tab on the harness connector to the unlocked position and disconnect the wire harness from both taillamp sockets (Fig. 2).

Access the Wiring Harness:
- Pull the vehicle’s wiring harness and rubber grommet slightly out on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
- Slit the grommet on the driver’s side using a utility knife from the hole where the wiring passes through to the outside edge (Fig. 3).
- Unwrap the tape around the grommet tabs, or cut the tabs off the grommet that holds it to the wires.

Install the T-Connector:
- Open the jack storage compartment on the driver’s side.
- Partially remove the driver’s side rear trim panel.
- Push the T-Connector end into the jack storage compartment and out through the driver’s side taillamp opening.
- Reposition the tape over the hole and wires as needed.
- Plug the T-Connector between the taillamp socket and the vehicle’s wiring harness. Secure the connectors with the red locking tab.

Secure the Grommet:
- Place the rubber grommet removed in step 2 over the T-Connector wiring.
- Push all existing wiring back into the grommet hole and reseat the grommet.

Passenger Side Installation:
- Route the T-Connector containing the green wire over to the passenger side and repeat the previous steps.

Ground Connection:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter.
- Caution: Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area. Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

Testing the Installation:
- Test the installation with a circuit tester or trailer.

Reassembly:
- Replace all trim panels removed during the installation process.
- Reinstall the taillamp housings, ensuring the wire harness is positioned securely between the housing and the vehicle body.
- Store the 4-flat connector in the jack storage compartment when not in use.
