Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Spare Tire:
- Lower the spare tire to provide clearance for hitch installation.

Remove Plastic Pins:
- Remove the (2) plastic pins that hold the bumper fascia onto the bumper structure (see Figure 1).
- For vehicles with an OEM tow hook, remove the fascia, plastic bumper support, and tow hook.

Position the Hitch:
- Gently pull the fascia rearward about 1 inch.
- Raise the hitch into position as shown in Figure 1.

Shim Excessive Gaps:
- If there is excessive gap between the vertical surfaces of the hitch and bumper structures, use flat washers as shims. Secure them in place with cellophane tape (see Figure 2).

Secure Hitch:
- Attach the hitch using the provided fasteners.
- If the fascia was removed in Step 2, reinstall the fascia and plastic bumper support.

Replace Plastic Pins:
- Reinsert the plastic pins into the bumper fascia.

Raise Spare Tire:
- Lift the spare tire back into the storage position.

Torque Specifications:
- Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners with a torque wrench to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
Hardware List:

Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

- T-20 Torx® Bit and Driver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Rear Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the rear tailgate to access the screws holding the taillights in place.
- Use a T-20 Torx® bit to remove the screws.
- Carefully pry the taillight housings rearward away from the vehicle, ensuring the alignment tabs are not broken.

Access Wiring and Disconnect Connectors:
- Locate the black housings that match the T-Connector housings.
- Disconnect the wire harness from both taillight sockets.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Install the T-Connector:
- Beginning on the driver’s side, plug the T-Connector harness containing the yellow wire between the vehicle’s mating connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Wiring Harness:
- Route the harness containing the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening behind the taillight on the driver’s side.
- Route the 4-flat harness to the center of the vehicle and the green wire under the vehicle to the passenger side.
- Bring the green wire up through the opening behind the passenger’s side taillight.
Warning:
- Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other areas that may pinch or break the wire.

Install the Passenger Side T-Connector:
- Repeat step 4 on the passenger’s side using the T-Connector harness containing the green wire.

Secure the Wiring and Black Box:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness.
- Mount the converter (black box) inside the driver’s side taillight pocket, below the taillight, and between the vehicle body and bumper.

Reinstall the Taillights:
- Reinstall both rear taillights, ensuring all connections are complete and wires are not pinched.

Test the Installation:
- Test the T-Connector installation with a test light or trailer to verify proper functionality.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps).
- Max. tail lights: (5.0 amps).
