Applications:
- For vehicles with OEM tow hook: The tow hook must be permanently removed for hitch installation. Installation time will increase from 20 minutes to 90 minutes.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Spare Tire:
- Lower the spare tire to provide clearance for hitch installation.

Remove Plastic Pins:
- Remove the (2) plastic pins that hold the bumper fascia onto the bumper structure (see Figure 1).
- For vehicles with an OEM tow hook, remove the fascia, plastic bumper support, and tow hook.

Position the Hitch:
- Gently pull the fascia rearward about 1 inch.
- Raise the hitch into position as shown in Figure 1.

Shim Excessive Gaps:
- If there is excessive gap between the vertical surfaces of the hitch and bumper structures, use flat washers as shims. Secure them in place with cellophane tape (see Figure 2).

Secure Hitch:
- Attach the hitch using the provided fasteners.
- If the fascia was removed in Step 2, reinstall the fascia and plastic bumper support.

Replace Plastic Pins:
- Reinsert the plastic pins into the bumper fascia.

Raise Spare Tire:
- Lift the spare tire back into the storage position.

Torque Specifications:
- Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners with a torque wrench to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
Hardware List:
- (4) 1/2-13 x 4” GR5 Hex Bolts

- (4) 1/2” Conical Washers
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

- Drill with 3/32" Drill Bit

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Rear Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s right-side taillight assembly by removing the two clips holding the taillight in place.
- Carefully pry the taillight housing away from the vehicle, ensuring not to break the alignment tabs.
- Repeat this process for the left-side taillight assembly.

Disconnect and Connect the T-Connector:
- Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- Plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver’s side taillight socket and vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Wiring:
- On the driver’s side, route the T-Connector end with the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body.
- Route the green wire across to the passenger side and up through the opening.
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any other points that may pinch or damage the wire.
- Repeat Step 2 for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area. Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Secure the Black Box and Wiring:
- Clean a flat area behind the driver’s side taillight assembly using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness under the bumper using the provided cable ties, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

Reinstall the Taillight Assemblies:
- Position the vehicle wiring harness between the housing and the vehicle body.
- Reinstall the taillight assemblies and any previously removed components.

Test the Installation:
- Test the T-Connector installation using a test light or trailer to verify proper functionality.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: (5 amps)
