Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Splash Guards:
- Remove splash guards from both driver and passenger side wheel wells by removing three Phillips head screws and one push pin per side (see Figure 2). Retain for reinstallation.

Remove Appearance Panels:
- Detach panels from both sides by removing push pins and M6 bolts (see Figure 3) to access the frame rails. Return panels and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Remove Tow Hook:
- Remove the driver-side tow hook by unscrewing four M10 fasteners. Return the tow hook and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Remove Suspension Damper:
- Remove the suspension damper on the driver’s side for wrench clearance to access the forward-most fastener.

Detach Passenger Side Bolts:
- Remove two M8 hex bolts from the passenger side frame rail (rearward of the exhaust hanger bracket). Discard these bolts.

Raise Hitch into Position:
- Install hitch using the existing weld nuts on the frame, except for the bolt-on bracket.

Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten fasteners to the specified torque:
- M8 x 1.25 CL10.9 fasteners: 25 lb-ft (34 N*m)
- M10 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners: 42 lb-ft (57 N*m)
- M12 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners: 76 lb-ft (103 N*m)
- Tighten fasteners to the specified torque:

Modify Frame Hole:
- Elongate the rear-most hole in the passenger side frame rail by approximately 1/8” using a drill or file. Paint exposed metal to prevent corrosion.

Install U-Bolt:
- Insert the U-bolt (see Figure 4) and slide conical washers over it to act as spacers. Secure washers with tape until installation is complete (see Figure 5).

Attach Bolt-on Bracket:
- Install the bolt-on bracket using the remaining fasteners (see Figure 6).

Torque U-Bolt and Bracket Fasteners:
- Tighten U-bolt lock nuts to 35 lb-ft (47 Nm) and 3/8-16 GR8 fasteners to 45 lb-ft (61 Nm).

Reinstall Suspension Damper:
- Reattach the suspension damper removed in Step 4.

Reinstall Splash Guards:
- Reinstall the splash guards removed in Step 1.

- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

- Socket & Ratchet Set
- Drill with 3/32” Drill Bit
- Double-Sided Tape
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
