Installation Instructions for Jeep Wrangler JL (Front Mounted Receiver)

Tools Required:

Ratchet
Torque Wrench
8mm Socket
16mm Socket
Utility Knife
Flat-Head Screwdriver
Tape Measure
Marker

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Front Plastic Air Dam:
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the (8) push pins located on the forward side of the fascia.
- Using an 8mm socket, remove the (2) lower bolts securing the air dam.
- Set the fascia aside for reinstallation.
Remove the Front Metal Air Dam:
- Use a 16mm socket to remove the (2) bolts located on each side of the frame.
- Lift the metal air dam straight up and set it aside. Return it to the customer if not reinstalled.
Raise the Hitch into Position:
- Position the hitch between the frame rails and align it with the existing holes in the frame.
Install the Fasteners:
- Attach the front face of the hitch to the frame using the provided:
  - (2) M10 bolts
  - (2) 7/16” conical washers
- Place (2) handle nuts inside the frame and align them with the vertical attachment holes.
- Install the 1/2”-13 x 1.75” bolts with 1/2” conical washers in the lower holes.
- Install the 1/2”-13 x 1.75” bolts with 1/2” lock washers in the upper holes of the hitch.
Torque the Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2” fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N-m).
- Torque all M10 fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N-m).
Trim the Plastic Air Dam:
- Measure and mark a 3” wide x 3” tall section in the center of the plastic air dam.
- Use a utility knife to cut out the marked section.
- See Figure 2 for reference.
Reinstall the Plastic Air Dam:
- Reinstall the trimmed plastic air dam using the push pins and bolts removed in Step 1.

(4) 1/2”-13 x 1.75” Hex Bolts
(2) M10 x 1.50 x 35 Hex Bolts
(2) 1/2” Lock Washers
(4) 1/2” Conical Washers
(2) 7/16” Conical Washers
(2) Handle Nuts
(6) 1/2” Flat Washers

Safety Notes:

Periodically check the hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and components remain secure.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the vehicle frame to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
Warning: Do not exceed the vehicle’s Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
Maximum Cargo Capacity: 500 lbs.
Maximum Winch Line Pull: 9,000 lbs.

Manufacturer Notes:

Always wear eye protection when working under the vehicle.
Do NOT use a torch to cut or enlarge holes in the frame or body panels.
This product complies with SAE J684 and VESC Regulation V-5 safety standards.
