- Alternate method: Use (2) 3/8” grade 5 bolts with locknuts torqued to SAE proof load specifications. Ensure no deformation of the trailer tongue end.
- A-Frame Couplers:
- Use the available mounting holes to bolt the coupler to the trailer tongue using grade 5 hardware with locknuts.

- Ø 3/8”: 23 ft-lbs.
- Ø 1/2”: 55 ft-lbs.
- Ø 5/8”: 110 ft-lbs.
- Adjustable Height Channel Couplers:
- For tongue heights of 6” or less, gussets are required.
- Weld a 1/4” minimum fillet weld around the mounting bracket.
- Insert (2) 5/8” x 5” grade 5 bolts through the bracket and coupler, tightening to 100-110 ft-lbs.
Coupling Instructions:
To Couple:
- Block trailer wheels.
- Align the hitch ball beneath the coupler.
- Open the locking lever and lower the coupler over the hitch ball until the ball is fully seated.
- Close the locking lever, ensuring the latch engages and the ball clamp is securely beneath the ball.
- Optionally, insert a locking pin through the lever.
To Uncouple:
- Block trailer wheels.
- Open the locking lever and raise the coupler off the hitch ball.
- Return the lever to the closed position.

- Oil pivot points with SAE 30 wt. motor oil.
- Inspect and replace retaining pins as needed.
- Keep the ball pocket clean to prevent debris buildup.
