How to Select

To select the right winch capacity, consider the weight of your boat, including the motor, fuel, and gear. Follow these guidelines:

  1. Minimum Winch Capacity = Maximum Weight of Boat, Including Motor, Fuel, Gear ÷ 2
  2. If shallow water or steep inclined launches are expected, divide the maximum weight by 1.5

Example Calculation:

  • Boat, Motor, Fuel, Gear Weight = 2,800 lbs
  • Minimum Winch Capacity = 2,800 ÷ 2 = 1,400 lbs

This calculation aligns with the capacity of the Fulton® Winch, ensuring optimal performance and safety for your boating activities.
