General Installation Instructions:
Preparation:

Raise the Vehicle:
- Elevate the rear of the truck and support it securely with jack stands to access the installation area.

Verify Compatibility:
- Check the parts against the provided list to ensure all components are included.
- Confirm the vehicle's bed liner type:
- Plastic Liners: Must be removed or cut for installation.
- Spray-In Liners: Allowable; ensure sufficient curing time.

Safety Precautions:
- Avoid drilling near fuel or brake lines. Check all areas under the bed before drilling.
Rail Installation:

Position the Rails:
- Measure the specified distance from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail:
- Long Bed: 29-3/4" or as specified.
- Short Bed: 25-1/4" or as specified.
- Ensure the rails are centered between the wheel wells.
- Measure the specified distance from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail:

Mark and Drill Holes:
- Mark the ten mounting hole locations as indicated in the diagrams.
- Drill pilot holes (1/8") and confirm alignment with the frame brackets.
- Enlarge the pilot holes to 17/32".

Install Spacers:
- Insert 1/2" slotted spacers in the bed corrugations to prevent crushing during bolt tightening.
- For specific Toyota Tundra models, stack additional spacers as required.
Bracket Installation:

Mount Frame Brackets:
- Attach long brackets to the forward holes and short brackets to the rearward holes.
- Secure bolts with serrated washers, lock washers, and hex nuts.
- Use pull wires to guide rib neck bolts through the frame.

Drill Frame Holes:
- Drill two holes in the frame for each bracket, selecting locations with the greatest bolt spread.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Lubricate the knurls of rib neck bolts before installation.
- Tighten all nuts to 85 lb-ft.

- Ensure the rails are square and properly aligned to support a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch.

- Recheck all fasteners and torque to specifications.

Safety Notes:
- Warning:
- Maximum Trailer Weight: 25,000 lbs
- Maximum Tongue Weight: 6,250 lbs
- Do not exceed the manufacturer's GVWR for your vehicle.
- Caution: Inspect the hitch periodically to ensure:
- All fasteners are tight.
- All structural components are in good condition.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Position the Base Rails
- Place the base rails across the truck bed.
- Position the gooseneck hitch onto the base rails to determine the spread between rails.
- Install the base rail mounting kit (30439 or 30035) according to the instructions provided.
Step 2: Install the Gooseneck Hitch
- Position the gooseneck hitch on the base rails.
- Ensure the ball is over or in front of the center of the tow vehicle’s axle.
- Do not position the ball behind the axle center.
Step 3: Secure the Hitch
- Install the pull pins to secure the hitch to the base rails.
- Lock the pull pins in place using the spring cotter pins.
Step 4: Attach Safety Chains
- Secure the safety chains through the slots located on the sides of the gooseneck plate.
Additional Mounting Instructions:
For applications requiring center bolts with base rail kit 30095.
Step 1: Drill Center Holes
- Verify clearance around the gas tank or other obstructions before drilling.
- Use the center hole in the base rail as a guide to drill a 1/2" hole through the truck bed.
Step 2: Install Center Bolts
- Insert a 1/2" carriage bolt into the drilled hole.
- Place the spacer between the truck bed and the base rail to prevent bed crushing.
- Add a serrated washer, lock washer, and hex nut under the truck bed.
Step 3: Torque Hardware
- Repeat the process for the other base rail.
- Torque all 1/2" nuts to 75 ft-lbs using a torque wrench.
