Specifications:

• Max Gross Trailer Weight: 2,000 lb. (908 kg)
• Max Tongue Weight: 200 lb. (90.8 kg)
• Note: Do not exceed towing vehicle manufacturer’s rating.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Tie-Down Brackets (if present):

   • Detach the tie-down brackets from the vehicle frame rail.
   • Return the brackets and bolts to the vehicle owner.

2. Remove Plastic Rivets:

   • Remove the two plastic rivets securing the fascia tabs to the vehicle.
   • Use a screwdriver to remove the center of each rivet.

3. Enlarge Access Holes:

   • Enlarge the access holes in the passenger-side frame rail only to accommodate the spacer. Refer to Figure 2 for guidance.

4. Fishwire Carriage Bolts and Spacers:

   • Insert the pull wire through the enlarged hole, attach a spacer and carriage bolt, and feed them one at a time into the frame rail. Leave the pull wire attached.

5. Paint Exposed Metal:

   • Apply paint to any exposed metal surfaces to prevent corrosion.

6. Position Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position.
   • Feed the pull wires through the adjacent holes in the hitch, remove the pull wires, and install conical washers and nuts finger-tight only.
   • Ensure fasteners are not pushed back into the frame rail.

7. Center and Secure Hitch:

   • Verify the hitch is centered on the vehicle.
   • Torque all fasteners to the specified values:
     • M10 CL8.8 bolts: 59 Lb.-Ft. (80 N*M)
     • 7/16”-14 GR5 bolts: 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)

8. Reinstall Plastic Rivets:

   • Replace the plastic rivets removed from the fascia tabs in Step 2.

• (2) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.75” GR5
• (2) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14
• (2) Spacers
• (2) Hex Bolts: M10 x 1.25 x 30mm CL8.8
• (4) Conical Washers: 7/16”
• (2) Pull Wires: 7/16”

Safety Notes:

• Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
• Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Always observe safety precautions and wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
• Do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Scion tC

Part Numbers:

Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

   • Locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area by partially removing all floor coverings, cargo trays, plastic threshold cover, access panels, and trim panels.
   • Be careful not to damage any clips or screws.

2. Access Taillight Wiring:

   • Behind each taillight housing, find connection points matching the T-Connector adapter ends.
   • Separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

3. Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Plug the T-Connector harness containing the yellow wire between the vehicle’s mating connectors on the driver’s side.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

4. Route and Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
   • Repeat Step 3 on the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
   • Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing.

   Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to prevent damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

6. Mount the T-Connector Black Box:

   • Clean a flat area on the driver’s side of the rear cargo area floor using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
   • Mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.

7. Reassemble the Vehicle:

   • Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

8. Store the 4-Flat Connector:

   • Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.

Specifications:

• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
• Max. tail lights: 5 amps

Safety Notes:

• Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the lower rating of the towing manufacturer or product specifications.
• Test and verify installation with a test light or trailer after installation.
