Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Tie-Down Brackets (if present):
- Detach the tie-down brackets from the vehicle frame rail.
- Return the brackets and bolts to the vehicle owner.

Remove Plastic Rivets:
- Remove the two plastic rivets securing the fascia tabs to the vehicle.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the center of each rivet.

Enlarge Access Holes:
- Enlarge the access holes in the passenger-side frame rail only to accommodate the spacer. Refer to Figure 2 for guidance.

Fishwire Carriage Bolts and Spacers:
- Insert the pull wire through the enlarged hole, attach a spacer and carriage bolt, and feed them one at a time into the frame rail. Leave the pull wire attached.

Paint Exposed Metal:
- Apply paint to any exposed metal surfaces to prevent corrosion.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position.
- Feed the pull wires through the adjacent holes in the hitch, remove the pull wires, and install conical washers and nuts finger-tight only.
- Ensure fasteners are not pushed back into the frame rail.

Center and Secure Hitch:
- Verify the hitch is centered on the vehicle.
- Torque all fasteners to the specified values:
- M10 CL8.8 bolts: 59 Lb.-Ft. (80 N*M)
- 7/16”-14 GR5 bolts: 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M)

Reinstall Plastic Rivets:
- Replace the plastic rivets removed from the fascia tabs in Step 2.
Hardware List:
- (2) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.75” GR5
- (2) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14
- (2) Spacers
- (2) Hex Bolts: M10 x 1.25 x 30mm CL8.8
- (4) Conical Washers: 7/16”
- (2) Pull Wires: 7/16”
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
- Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always observe safety precautions and wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Scion tC

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Locate the vehicle’s wiring inside the rear cargo area by partially removing all floor coverings, cargo trays, plastic threshold cover, access panels, and trim panels.
- Be careful not to damage any clips or screws.

Access Taillight Wiring:
- Behind each taillight housing, find connection points matching the T-Connector adapter ends.
- Separate the vehicle’s wiring connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-Connector harness containing the yellow wire between the vehicle’s mating connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

Route and Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
- Repeat Step 3 on the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw. Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to prevent damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Mount the T-Connector Black Box:
- Clean a flat area on the driver’s side of the rear cargo area floor using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 5 amps
