Installation Instructions for Ford Focus

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Lower the exhaust system at the rubber isolator. Spray lubricant on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator to assist removal.

Loosen Heat Shield:
- Loosen the heat shield by removing the nuts. Note: The heat shield cannot be removed.

Trim Heat Shield:
- Trim the heat shield around the notch at the attachment hole. Refer to Figure 2 for guidance.

Reinstall Heat Shield:
- Bend the heat shield back into position and reinstall the nuts.

Fishwire Bolts and Spacers:
- Using pull wires, feed the spacers (Item 2) and carriage bolts into position on both frame rails. Use the access hole located at the end of the frame rail near the impact bar.
- Tip: Ensure the bolt and spacer are not engaged when inserting them into the frame. See Figure 3.

Install Spacer Blocks:
- Position the spacers (Item 2) between the hitch and frame on both sides as shown in Figure 2.

Raise Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust, sandwiching the heat shield between the hitch and the rail on the driver’s side.

Attach Fasteners:
- Remove the pull wires carefully and attach conical washers and hex nuts, ensuring the fasteners are not pushed back into the frame rail.

Install Remaining Fasteners:
- Attach the remaining fasteners as shown in Figure 1. Orient blocks (Item 5) as depicted to avoid overlap.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust system back into position and secure it to the rubber isolator.

- (4) Small Spacers

Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure proper tightening.
- Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always observe safety precautions and wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Ford Focus
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Deep Well Socket and Ratchet
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily disconnect the driver's side taillight housing by unscrewing the two 10mm nuts holding it in place.
- Carefully pry the taillight housing from the vehicle.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the yellow wire up from underneath the vehicle through the opening between the bumper and body panel.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Separate the vehicle's taillight connectors and insert the T-Connector in between them.
- Ensure the connectors are clean, properly aligned, and fully inserted with the locking tabs secured.

Repeat for Passenger Side:
- Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or cross member. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing, drill a 3/32” hole, and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the T-Connector Harness:
- Route the 4-flat end of the T-Connector harness to the center of the vehicle.
- Secure the harness and converter to the vehicle crossmember or other mounting points using the provided tie straps.
- Reconnect the vehicle's taillights.
Note: Mount the 4-flat end in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
