Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Impact Structure and Bumper:
- Remove the vehicle's impact structure and bumper by loosening and removing eight (8) bolts.
- Remove two (2) bolts securing the spare tire cradle. Keep these bolts for reinstallation.
- Disconnect electrical plugs and set aside the impact structure to return to the owner.

Prepare Frame Rails:
- Tape flat washers (item 4) to the frame rails on both sides.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and secure it using the provided fasteners as shown in Figure 2.

Reinstall Spare Tire Cradle:
- Reattach the spare tire cradle using the original fasteners.

Reinstall Bumper:
- Reattach the bumper using the original side fasteners.

Torque All Fasteners:
- Tighten all M14 CL10.9 fasteners to 100 lb-ft (136 N*m) using a torque wrench.

Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Raise the spare tire back into position if required.

Return Impact Structure:
- Return the removed impact structure to the vehicle owner.

Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Towing Vehicle:
- Locate the appropriate wires at the rear of the vehicle using a circuit tester and the provided wiring chart as a reference.
- Make the connections as shown in the chart using wire taps.
- Connect the Ground Wire (White) to the vehicle frame or body.
General:
- Test all lights using a test light, circuit tester, or connected trailer to ensure proper functionality.
- Secure all loose wires with cable ties.
Notes:
- Vehicles with separate turn and stop lights require a taillight converter.
- If splicing into the vehicle wiring:
- Consult the vehicle owner's manual or local dealer for warnings or restrictions.
- Use appropriate gauge wire splices for secure connections.
