Specifications:

• Max Gross Trailer Weight: 2,000 lb. (907 kg)
• Max Tongue Weight: 200 lb. (91 kg)
• Note: Do not exceed the towing vehicle manufacturer’s rating.

Installation Time:

• Standard Models: 30 minutes
• Convertible Models: Additional 60 minutes required

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Rearward Hanger Bracket Bolts:

   • Remove (2) 8mm bolts from the rearward hanger bracket on both sides of the vehicle.
   • Remove (2) 8mm bolts from the forward hanger brackets.

2. Convertible Models Only:

   • Remove the support member by taking off (14) 10mm bolts to access the forward hanger brackets.

3. Lower Exhaust:

   • Detach the (4) hanger brackets to lower the exhaust.
   • Use a ratchet strap to support the exhaust while it is lowered.

4. Install Carriage Bolts and Spacers:

   • Fishwire 7/16” carriage bolts and spacers through the access hole in the frame rail.
   • Pull bolts through the two bottom holes and one side hole in the frame rail, leaving fishwires attached.

5. Position Hitch:

   • Lower the exhaust further using the ratchet strap if needed.
   • Slide the hitch into position, ensuring side brackets are over the fishwires.

6. Secure Hitch:

   • Remove fishwires and install conical washers and nuts on both sides of the hitch.
   • Torque all 7/16”-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).

7. Reinstall Components:

   • Reattach the hanger brackets and reinstall the M8 bolts removed earlier.
   • For convertible models, reinstall the support member.
   • Torque all M8 CL10.9 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).
   • Torque all M10 fasteners to 38 Lb.-Ft. (52 N*M).

• (2) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.50” GR5
• (6) Spacers: 1/4” x 1” x 3”
• (6) Conical Washers: 7/16”
• (6) Hex Nuts: 7/16”-14 GR2
• (6) Fishwires: 7/16”
• (4) Carriage Bolts: 7/16”-14 x 1.25” GR5

Safety Notes:

• Regularly inspect all fasteners and the hitch ball to ensure they remain securely tightened.
• Plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Always observe safety precautions and wear eye protection while working beneath the vehicle.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Ford Mustang

Part Numbers:

Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:

   • Partially remove the plastic threshold cover and felt trunk liner in the rear cargo area.
   • Remove the top fasteners holding the threshold by rotating them 90° and gently pulling out until they release.
   • Locate the connection points matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter on the back of each taillight housing.

2. Disconnect the Wiring Harness:

   • Separate the vehicle wiring connectors, being careful not to damage the locking tabs.
   • Ensure the mating surfaces of the connectors are clean and free of dirt.

3. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
   • Ensure the locking tabs are secure and connectors are fully inserted.

4. Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:

   • Route the T-Connector containing the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger-side taillight housing.
   • Repeat Step 3 for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
   • If necessary, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing.

   Caution:

   • Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

6. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Inside the trunk, connect the black 12-gauge wire and the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
   • Route the black wire either through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds to the engine compartment and up to the battery.

   Warning:

   • Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

7. Connect to the Vehicle Battery:

   • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
   • Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle’s positive battery cable and connect the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

8. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Reconnect the negative battery cable.
   • Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

   Warning:

   • Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

9. Secure the T-Connector Harness:

   • Use the provided cable ties to secure the harness, avoiding areas where wires could be pinched or damaged.
   • Mount the T-Connector black box on a flat surface using the provided double-sided tape.

10. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Replace the trunk threshold and felt trunk liner.

    Specifications:

    • Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
    • Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)

Safety Notes:

• Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the towing manufacturer’s rating or the unit specifications.
• Always wear safety glasses and follow all safety precautions during installation.

Manufacturer Notes:

• Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
