1. Lower Exhaust:

   • Use an exhaust hanger removal tool to lower the exhaust muffler by removing the three rearmost rubber hangers.
   • Spray lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers to make them easier to remove.
   • Ensure the exhaust is properly supported before removing the hangers.

2. Lower Spare Tire:

   • Lower the spare tire according to the vehicle's owner's manual.

3. Remove Electrical Harness Clip:

   • Using a plastic trim tool, remove the electrical harness clip from the bottom of the driver-side frame rail.

4. Install Hitch:

   • Use a wire brush to clean the weldnuts on the frame if necessary.
   • Raise the hitch into position and loosely install the supplied M12 hex bolts and conical washers (teeth side toward hitch) into the weldnuts.

5. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Using a torque wrench, tighten all M12 x 1.25 x 40 CL10.9 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N*m).

6. Reinstall Spare Tire and Exhaust:

   • Raise the spare tire back into position.
   • Reattach the exhaust using the rubber hangers removed earlier.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Locate the Vehicle’s Trailer Wiring Harness:

   • Underneath the vehicle, locate the trailer wiring harness connector on the driver’s side, behind the rear bumper fascia.
   • If a protective cap is present, remove it and store it safely.

2. Clean and Prepare the Connector:

   • Ensure the vehicle’s trailer wiring harness connector and the T-One® T-Connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt or debris.
   • Clean the surfaces as necessary to ensure a proper connection.

3. Connect the T-One® T-Connector:

   • Insert the 12-pin T-One® T-Connector into the vehicle’s trailer wiring harness.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with the locking tabs securely engaged.

4. Mount the Black Box:

   • Determine a suitable mounting location behind the rear bumper fascia on the driver’s side.
   • Clean the mounting surface using a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water to ensure proper adhesion.
   • Mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape, ensuring the epoxy side faces downward to prevent water accumulation.

   Caution: Ensure the black box is in a protected area to avoid damage from road debris or exposure to harsh elements.

5. Route the 4-Flat Connector:

   • Route the 4-flat connector rearward along the bumper fascia to the center of the vehicle.
   • Secure the harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or any points that may pinch, cut, or damage the wire.

6. Mount the 4-Flat Connector:

   • Mount the 4-flat connector in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).

7. Reinstall Plastic Cover:

   • If removed, reinstall the plastic cover securely, ensuring not to break any securing pins.

8. Test the Installation:

   • Test the T-One® T-Connector using a test light or trailer to ensure proper functionality.
   • Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition if necessary.
