Tools Required:

- Torque Wrench

- Sockets: 18 mm, 19 mm, 3/4", 11/16"
- 6" Socket Extension
- Pliers
- Lubricant or Soapy Water (for exhaust removal)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove the Tow Hook (If Equipped):
- Tow hook must be permanently removed for hitch installation.
2. Lower Exhaust System:
- At the rubber isolator (3 locations), spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator for easier removal.
- Remove rubber isolators from mufflers (2) only, to be reinstalled in Step 8. Be careful not to allow the muffler to fall under its own weight.
3. Install Carriage Bolts on Exhaust Hangers:
- Install carriage bolts (7/16-14 × 2.500) into exhaust hangers on the hitch.
- Reinstall rubber isolators removed in Step 2 onto these carriage bolts.
- Secure with flat washers and hex lock nuts. Tighten until the lock washer begins to flatten.
4. Install Carriage Bolt and Spacer into Passenger Frame Rail:
- Using the reverse pull-wire procedure, feed the 1/2"-13 carriage bolt and spacer into the passenger-side frame rail.
- Leave the pull wire attached.
5. Position the Hitch:
- Feed the pull wire through the hole in the passenger-side hitch bracket.
- Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust and align it with the existing weldnuts in the frame rail and the 1/2"-13 carriage bolt installed in Step 4.
- Secure with M12 hex bolts and conical washers (teeth side against the hitch).
6. Install Hardware on Carriage Bolt:
- Remove the pull wire and install a conical washer and hex nut on the carriage bolt.
7. Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 lb-ft (92 N·m).
- Tighten all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
8. Reinstall the Exhaust System:
- Raise the exhaust back into position (3 locations).
- Use lubricant or soapy water as needed for reinstallation.

- 1 × Carriage Bolt (1/2"-13 × 1.50, GR5)

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Ford Explorer

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Locate the Tow-Plug Harness:
- Locate the vehicle's tow-plug harness underneath the vehicle on the passenger side.
- The connection point will be behind the rear tire and feature connectors matching the T-Connector harness.
- Carefully separate the connector without breaking the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Insert the T-Connector Harness:
- Plug the T-Connector harness into the vehicle's tow-plug harness.
- Lock the connectors into place securely.

Route the T-Connector Harness:
- Route the T-Connector harness along the inside of the bumper towards the center of the vehicle.
Warning:
- Route the wire carefully, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any points that could pinch or damage the wire.

Verify Connections:
- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer to confirm functionality.

Secure Loose Wires:
- Secure all loose wires.
- Mount the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
Warning:
- Overloading circuits can cause fires.
- Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer's ratings or the following:
- Max. stop/turn light: 7.5 amps
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
