Step-by-Step Instructions:
For RX350 Models:

Remove Tie-Down Bracket:
- Use a 17mm socket to remove the two bolts securing the tie-down bracket on the passenger side.
- Return the tie-down bracket to the vehicle owner.

Remove Weldnut Covers:
- Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the two plastic caps from the rearmost existing weldnuts on the driver side.
- Remove the rearmost rubber plug from the hole between the two weldnuts.

Trim Lower Fascia (for models after 2021):
- Remove two tabs from the sensor bracket behind the lower fascia, if present.
- Mark a 3"x3" trimming area using tape and a marker, centered from the edge of the bottom tab.
- Use a hacksaw to trim the marked area.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position over the existing weldnuts.
- Install two M12 bolts and conical washers on both sides.
- Bend the exhaust heat shield if necessary to prevent it from touching the hitch.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 lb-ft (103 N·m).
For RX450h Models:

Remove Underbody Panel:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove 13 fasteners securing the underbody panel. One plunger-style fastener is located behind the wheel well trim on the driver side.
- Retain the underbody panel for reinstallation after trimming.

Remove Hole Plugs:
- Remove three rearmost hole plugs from the driver side frame rail using a flat head screwdriver.

Remove Tow Loop:
- Use a 17mm socket to remove the two M12 bolts securing the tow loop on the passenger side. Return the tow loop and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Lower Exhaust:
- Use a 12mm socket to remove two M8 bolts holding the exhaust hanger on the passenger side. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.

Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust.
- Install two M12 bolts and conical washers on both sides.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 lb-ft (103 N·m) and M8 fasteners to 27 lb-ft (37 N·m).

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Use a 12mm socket to reinstall the M8 bolts, conical washers, and hex nuts.

Trim Underbody Panel:
- Use a hacksaw to trim the appearance panel in two places. Obtain vehicle owner approval before trimming.

Reinstall Underbody Panel:
- Use the 13 retained fasteners to reinstall the appearance panel.

Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
