Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

   • Open the rear tailgate to access the bolts holding the taillights.
   • Remove the taillights on both the driver and passenger sides.
   • Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Carefully set aside all removed items.

2. Access Interior Panels:

   • Partially remove the lower interior trim panels on the driver’s side only, being careful not to damage clips.

3. Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:

   • Attach the T-Connector containing the yellow and brown wires to the vehicle’s harness.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

4. Route the T-Connector Harness:

   • Route the green wire and 4-flat harness down the opening behind the driver’s side taillight.
   • Route the 4-flat harness to the center of the vehicle and the green wire underneath to the passenger side.
   • Route the green wire through the opening behind the passenger-side taillight.

5. Prepare the Grommet:

   • Locate the grommet between the taillight pocket and trunk on the driver’s side.
   • Carefully slit the grommet to allow routing of the T-Connector’s grey 12-pin and 1-pin connectors into the vehicle’s cargo area.

6. Connect the Grey 12-Pin Connector:

   • Inside the vehicle, connect the grey 12-pin connector to the mating connector on the black box module.
   • Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

7. Mount the Black Box Module:

   • Find a flat surface inside the vehicle and mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.
   • Warning: The black box must be mounted inside the vehicle to prevent damage from exposure to elements.

8. Connect the 1-Pin Housing:

   • Locate the 1-pin housing taped to the taillight harness on the driver’s side.
   • Plug the 1-pin housing from the T-Connector into the vehicle’s connector.

9. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

10. Install the Fuse:

    • Open the vehicle hood and locate the fuse box on the driver’s side.
    • Insert the 15-amp fuse into the position labeled “20A Trailer.”

11. Secure and Test:

    • Secure the T-Connector harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas where the wiring could be pinched, cut, or melted.
    • Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

12. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched.

Part 1: Install the 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Mount the Adapter:

   • Choose a suitable mounting point on the vehicle, typically near the hitch.
   • Use the provided bracket and screws to secure the adapter.

2. Connect the 4-Flat Plug:

   • Plug the 4-flat connector on the adapter into the existing 4-flat plug on the vehicle.
   • This connection enables tail lights, left turn, and right turn signals.

3. Ground the Adapter:

   • Locate a clean, solid grounding point near the adapter.
   • Drill a 3/32" hole if necessary and secure the white ground wire from the adapter using the provided screw and eyelet.

4. Leave Additional Wires Disconnected:

   • The following wires will remain disconnected until Part 2:
     • Black Wire: Power from the battery.
     • Blue Wire: Brake control output.
     • Yellow Wire: Reverse light (optional; leave disconnected unless needed).

5. Test Initial Connection:

   • Use a test light or trailer to verify functionality of the 4-way connections (tail lights, turn signals).

Part 2: Install Brake Control Wiring

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Mount Circuit Breakers:

   • Install two 30A circuit breakers on the firewall or another suitable location near the battery.
   • Use self-tapping screws to mount them securely.

2. Route Power Wires:

   • Connect the black 12-gauge wire from the 7-way adapter to the auxiliary side of one circuit breaker (this powers the 7-way socket).
   • Run a heavy-gauge wire from the battery's positive terminal to the battery side of this circuit breaker, using a ring terminal.
   • Run another heavy-gauge wire from the battery's positive terminal to the auxiliary side of the second circuit breaker (for the brake controller).

3. Install the Brake Controller:

   • Mount the brake controller under the dash on a firm surface.
   • Use the following connections:
     • Red Wire: Connect to the cold side of the brake switch (active only when the brake pedal is pressed).
