Installation Instructions for Trailer Hitch

Tools Required:

• Ratchet
• Torque Wrench
• Safety Glasses
• Sockets: 10 mm, 13 mm, 15/16"
• 6" Socket Extension
• Tape
• Flat Head Screwdriver
• Utility Knife

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Ground Wire:

• Using a 10 mm socket, remove the ground wire from the passenger-side frame rail. Return the fastener to the vehicle owner.

2. Lower Spare Tire:

• Lower the spare tire to allow room for hitch installation.

3. Install Spacer Blocks:

• Secure U-shaped spacer blocks to the inside of the frame rail using masking tape. Ensure they are centered around the holes in the frame on both sides.
• Attach .250 x 1.75 x 2.50 spacer blocks to the forward mounting hole of the hitch bracket using masking tape. Center the hole in the block with the slot in the bracket on both sides.

4. Install Fasteners:

• Feed the coiled end of the fish wire through the attachment hole and out the access hole in the frame.
• Attach the spacer block and carriage bolt to the fish wire and pull the hardware inside the frame. Repeat this process for all four attachment points.
• Leave the fish wires attached temporarily.

5. Mount the Hitch:

• Raise the hitch into position, guiding the fish wires through the corresponding holes in the hitch.
• Pull the fasteners into position and carefully remove the fish wires.
• Loosely install the conical washers and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts. Avoid letting the bolts fall into the frame.

6. Reattach Ground Wire:

• Using a 13 mm socket, reattach the ground wire with the M8 bolt, lock washer, and flat washer provided.

7. Torque Fasteners:

• Torque all 5/8"-11 GR5 fasteners to 150 lb-ft (203 N·m).
• Torque all M8 CL8.8 fasteners to 20 lb-ft (27 N·m).

8. Raise Spare Tire:

• Reinstall the spare tire in its original stowed position.

• 4 × Spacer Blocks (.250" × 1.12" × 3.00")

• 4 × Hex Nuts (5/8"-11 GR2)
• 2 × Spacer Blocks (.250" × 1.75" × 2.50")
• 1 × Bolt (M8 × 1.25 × 30 CL8.8)
• 1 × Lock Washer (5/16")
• 1 × Flat Washer (5/16")
• 4 × Fish Wires (5/8")

Safety Notes:

• Always wear safety glasses during installation.
• Proper torque is essential to secure the hitch to the vehicle.
• Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are secure.
• Plug any holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball before use.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Ford F-150

Part Numbers:

Tools Required:

• Trim Panel Remover
• Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
• 1/4” Socket
• Philips Head Screwdriver
• Test Probe

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Locate Tow-Plug Harness:

   • Underneath the vehicle on the driver’s side, locate the vehicle’s Tow-Plug harness behind the rear tire.
   • Separate the connector carefully without breaking the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

2. Insert T-One® Connector:

   • Insert the T-One® Connector harness into the vehicle’s Tow-Plug harness and lock it into place.

3. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
   • Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

4. Route the 7-Way Harness:

   • Determine the mounting location for the 7-Way connector.
   • Route the harness containing the seven wires along the inside of the bumper toward the center of the vehicle and the mounting location.
   • Warning: Avoid routing wires near hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or any areas that could pinch or damage the wire.

5. Consult 7-Way Diagram:

   • Refer to the included 7-Way diagram for proper wire locations.

6. Install the 7-Way Socket:

   • Plug the 7-way socket (provided) into the Trailer Tow Harness.
   • Mount the 7-Way connector in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).

7. Secure the Harness:

   • Secure the remaining harness using the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling.
   • Avoid areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

8. Test the Installation:

   • Ensure all connections are complete for proper T-One® Connector functionality.
   • Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the ignition key.
   • Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

   Warning: Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the following ratings:

   • Max. stop/turn light: 10 amps
   • Max. tail lights: 10 amps
   • Max. backup: 10 amps
   • Max. power circuit: 20 amps
   • Max. trailer brakes: 3 axles/6 brakes (18 amps)
