Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Factory Tow Hook:
- Remove the factory tow hook and fasteners from the vehicle frame.
- Return them to the vehicle owner.

Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position on the driver side and loosely install the center fastener:
- Insert the M12 hex bolt with a conical washer through the elongated hole in the hitch and into the frame.
- Repeat this process on the passenger side.
- Raise the hitch into position on the driver side and loosely install the center fastener:

Install Remaining Fasteners:
- Center the hitch on the vehicle and install the remaining fasteners as shown in the diagram.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 x 1.25 CL8.8 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N*m).
Torque Specifications:
- M12 x 1.25 CL8.8 bolts: 75 lb-ft (102 N*m)
Hardware List:
- (5) Hex Bolt, M12 x 1.25 x 35mm CL8.8
- (5) Conical Washer, 1/2"
Additional Notes for Appearance Panels:
- For vehicles with plastic appearance panels covering the driver and passenger side frame rails:
- Remove the panels and their fasteners.
- Return the panels to the vehicle owner.
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Nissan Rogue:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the rear hatch.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, storage covers, and floor covering.
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. Carefully set aside all items removed.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors, ensuring no damage to the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver’s side taillight wiring connectors.
- Lock the connectors into place, ensuring the locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 using the green wire for the passenger-side taillight connectors.
Infiniti G35:

Access the Trunk Area:
- Open the trunk.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate and partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Install the T-Connector:
- Follow Steps 2-4 from the Nissan Rogue instructions for both the driver and passenger sides.
All Vehicles:

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean the grounding area and drill a 3/32” hole. Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid vehicle damage or personal injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet or along the exterior frame to the vehicle battery.
Warning:
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other areas that could damage the wire.

Connect to the Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the ring terminal.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Mount the Black Box:
- Find a flat surface near the driver’s side taillight to mount the T-Connector black box.
- Secure it with the provided double-sided tape and cable ties.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all trim panels, the threshold, storage covers, and floor covering removed during installation. Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the T-Connector functionality with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
