Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Rear Underbody Panel:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the screws securing the underbody panel.
- Carefully detach the panel and set it aside for modification or trimming if required.
2. Lower Exhaust:
- Use pliers to remove the rubber hangers holding the exhaust system in place.
- Apply soapy water to the hangers for easier removal.
- Support the exhaust to avoid damage during installation.
3. Prepare the Frame for Installation:
- Locate the factory-installed weld nuts inside the frame rails.
- Clean any debris or rust from the weld nuts to ensure proper bolt alignment.
4. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the mounting holes with the weld nuts on the frame rails.
- Insert the provided bolts and conical washers (teeth side facing the hitch) into the weld nuts.
- Hand-tighten all bolts to hold the hitch in place.
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all bolts to the specified torque value of 67 lb-ft (91 N·m).
6. Trim and Reinstall Underbody Panel:
- Measure and mark the underbody panel as per the provided trimming diagram.
- Use a utility knife to cut the panel along the marked lines.
- Reinstall the trimmed panel using the original fasteners.
7. Reinstall Exhaust:
- Reattach the rubber hangers to secure the exhaust system in place.
- Ensure the exhaust is properly aligned and supported.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Jeep Grand Cherokee

- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Taillights:
- Open the rear tailgate to access the screws securing the taillights.
- On the driver’s side, remove the two clips holding the taillight in place.
- Carefully pull the taillight away from the vehicle, avoiding damage to the alignment pins.
- Repeat on the passenger side.

Connect the T-Connector:
- Locate the black 3-pin connector behind the taillights.
- Disconnect the vehicle’s wiring connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors and lock it in place.
- Locate the black 2-pin connector and connect the T-Connector end with the brown wire.
- Ensure all connectors are fully inserted and secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening between the bumper and body.
- Route the green wire T-Connector up through the opening on the passenger side.
- Connect the T-Connector with the green wire to the passenger-side wiring harness.
Warning:
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks to prevent wire damage.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle’s trunk, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the fuse holder ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- Follow all warnings and instructions for handling the vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface to mount the T-One® T-Connector’s black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remaining harness.
- Avoid areas where the wires could be pinched, cut, or melted.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the taillight assemblies and any other components removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and mount it in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box (not included).
