Wiring Access Location:

Tools Required:
- Hitch Requires: 5/8" Pin and Clip (if stabilizing pin is not installed)
- Wrenches: 14mm, 17mm (tighten all fasteners with torque wrench)
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
Drill Bits:
- None
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Remove shrouds on both sides on Lexus RX400h:
- (4) Phillips Head Screws & (2) Plastic Push Rivets on the driver’s side.
- (2) Phillips Head Screws, (1) Plastic Push Rivet & (1) 10mm Bolt on the passenger’s side.
- Remove tie downs and fasteners from frame rails.
- Remove rubber plugs (2) located in each rail.
- Raise hitch into position and install fasteners as shown in the diagram.
- Return the tie downs, fasteners, rubber plugs, and shrouds to the vehicle owner.
- Tighten all M10 CL8.8 fasteners to 38 lb-ft.
Hardware List:
- M10 x 1.25 x 40mm CL8.8 Bolts
- Conical Toothed Washer (Typical 3 Places per Side of Vehicle)
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
