Wiring Access Location:

• Wrenches: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm
• Drill with 1/2" Drill Bit
• Pull Wire (provided)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Remove Spare Tire:

   • Take out the spare tire from the inside of the trunk.

2. Lower Exhaust:

   • Remove the rubber exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust.

3. Remove Fascia Rivets:

   • Detach the rivets from the fascia tabs between the trunk pan and rear fascia.
   • Remove any plastic under-covering beneath the trunk pan if present.

4. Remove Existing Bracket:

   • Remove the existing bracket from the driver-side frame rail and rear end panel. Return it to the vehicle owner.

5. Install Hitch:

   • Raise the hitch into position.
   • Secure it with M10 hex bolts and 3/8" conical toothed washers into the existing weldnuts.
   • If weldnuts are absent on the passenger side, use the provided nuts and washers.

6. Drill Holes:

   • Using the hitch as a template, drill two 1/2" holes through the trunk pan.

7. Prepare Trunk Pan:

   • From inside the trunk, scrape away the foam rubber material around the drilled holes.

8. Install Additional Fasteners:

   • Insert the 1/2" hex bolts, blocks, lock washers, and nuts through the drilled holes and secure.

9. Reinstall Spare Tire:

   • Replace the spare tire inside the trunk.

10. Reattach Components:

    • Reattach the rubber exhaust hangers.
    • Insert the fascia rivets back into the fascia tabs.

Torque Specifications:

• Tighten all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 ft-lb (102 N*m).
• Tighten all M10 CL8.8 fasteners to 42 ft-lb (57 N*m).

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Toyota Venza / Mitsubishi Outlander:

1. Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
   • Open the vehicle’s rear tailgate.
   • Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays.
   • Remove the cargo loops on both sides to allow the trim panels to be pulled away carefully.

Toyota Camry:

1. Prepare the Trunk Area:
   • Open the trunk and remove the threshold panel.
   • Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the taillight wiring harness.

2. Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:

   • On the driver’s side, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
   • Separate the connectors carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
   • Check that the mating surfaces match the T-Connector ends, and clean all connectors if necessary.

3. Connect the T-Connector:

   • Attach the T-Connector end with the yellow and brown wires to the driver’s side taillight harness.
   • Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with the locking tabs engaged.

4. Route the Passenger-Side Wiring:

   • Route the T-Connector end with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
   • Repeat step 3 using the T-Connector with the green wire.

5. Ground the White Wire:

   • Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember.
   • Clean the grounding area, drill a 3/32” hole, and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
   • Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

6. Mount the Black Converter Box:

   • On the driver’s side, locate a flat surface and mount the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.

7. Connect the Power Wire:

   • Attach the provided black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the converter box.
   • Route the black wire through a grommet or along the existing wiring to the vehicle battery.
   • Toyota Camry Hybrid: The battery is located inside the trunk.

   Warning:

   • Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

8. Connect to the Battery:

   • Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
   • Remove the fuse from the provided yellow fuse holder.
   • Attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable and connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
   • Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

9. Secure the Wiring:

   • Use the provided cable ties to secure the harness and prevent damage or rattling.
   • Avoid areas where the wire may be pinched, cut, or melted.

10. Reassemble the Vehicle:

    • Reinstall all panels, thresholds, storage covers, and floor coverings removed during the installation.

11. Test the Installation:

    • Test and verify the installation using a test light or trailer.
    • Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

    Specifications:

    • Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
    • Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)
