Installation Instructions for Toyota Sienna

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panel:
- For vehicles with an appearance panel covering the trunk pan:
- Remove the panel.
- Trim the panel or return it untrimmed to the vehicle owner based on their preference (see Figure 2).
- For vehicles with an appearance panel covering the trunk pan:

Remove Plastic Plugs:
- Remove the plastic plugs from existing holes in the vehicle frame (if present).

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position over the exhaust pipes, aligning the slots in the hitch with the weldnuts in the frame rails.
- Lowering the exhaust may ease installation.
- Spray lubricant on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to help remove the exhaust.

Install Fasteners:
- Install the provided fasteners through the hitch and into the weldnuts on the frame rails as shown in Figure 1.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 CL10.9 fasteners to 75 ft-lb (102 N*m).

Reinstall Components:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reattach hangers.
- Reinstall the trimmed appearance panel or return the untrimmed panel to the vehicle owner.
Hardware List:
- (6) Hex Bolt, M12 x 1.25 x 40mm CL10.9
- (6) Lock Washer, 1/2"
- (6) Flat Washer, 1/2"
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Toyota Sienna
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- 12mm Socket & Ratchet or 12mm Wrench
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Test Probe
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Trim Panel Remover
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the rear tailgate and remove two bolts securing each taillight.
- Carefully pry the taillight housings rearward, avoiding damage to the alignment tabs.
- Repeat for the passenger side.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Locate the taillight wiring harness on both sides of the vehicle.
- Separate the connectors, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Clean the connector surfaces to remove dirt.

Remove Interior Panels:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate by removing the cargo clips.
- Remove the jack storage compartment door on the passenger side.
- Carefully pull back the interior trim panels on both sides using a trim panel remover.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a suitable mounting location inside the rear quarter panel on the passenger side.
- Clean the area with a 50/50 water/alcohol solution.
- Mount the black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector ends with green and brown/red wires through the opening on the passenger side.
- Insert the T-Connector ends between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock them into place.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the yellow wire to the driver’s side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 5 for the driver-side T-Connector with the yellow wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connectors.
- Secure the white wire with the provided ring terminal under an existing screw or by drilling a 3/32” hole.
Warning:
- Ensure all other ground connections are secure when removing and reattaching the ground stud.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Cut the yellow fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Route the Black Wire:
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Connect the other end of the black 12-gauge wire to the red power wire on the T-Connector’s black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- All connections must be complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
- Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer.

Secure and Reassemble:
- Secure all loose wires with the provided cable ties.
- Reinstall the taillight assemblies, panels, and other items removed during installation.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the jack storage compartment when not in use.
- Route the 4-flat harness through the rear tailgate/door seal when in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: (5.6 amps)

- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the towing manufacturer’s rating or the specified maximum ratings.
- Always follow all safety precautions and use safety glasses during installation.
