- Lubricant or Soapy Water
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Support and Lower Exhaust:

- Support the exhaust to prevent it from falling under its own weight.
- Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rods and rubber isolators to aid removal.
2. Remove Plastic Rivets:
- If present, remove the plastic rivets fastening the fascia tabs to the vehicle using a small flat head screwdriver.
- Keep the rivets for reinstallation.
3. Install Fasteners:
- Feed the coiled end of the pull wire through the forward attachment hole in the frame and out the access hole.
- Attach the spacer and thread the carriage bolt onto the pull wire. Pull the pull wire with fasteners into position through the hole.
- Leave the pull wire attached. Repeat this process on both frame rails.
- For the reverse pull wire procedure, thread the carriage bolt onto the pull wire and feed it into the access hole on the frame rail. Then feed the spacer onto the pull wire, pull it into position through the spacer, and leave the pull wire attached.
4. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch above the exhaust, feeding the pull wires through the attachment points on the hitch brackets.
- Gently pull the fascia rearward as needed to gain access between the fascia and exhaust hanger.
5. Secure Fasteners:

- Hand-tighten both sides.
6. Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten all 1/2" GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Note: A universal joint socket may be needed to tighten the rearward fasteners on both sides.
7. Reinstall Exhaust:
