Exhaust Removal Pliers (Optional)
Lubricant or Soapy Water

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower the Exhaust:

Remove the rubber isolators from the exhaust at the rear of the vehicle on both sides.
It may be necessary to remove the isolator forward of the rear axle.
Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to ease removal.

2. Remove Center Splash Guard (For 2023 or Newer Models):

Using a 10 mm socket, remove nuts from the splash guard.
Remove rivets using a flat head screwdriver.
Return the splash guard to the vehicle owner.

3. Install Hardware:

Use the fish wire to install the carriage bolts and spacers into the large access hole at the end of the vehicle frame as shown in Figure 1.
Repeat for both sides.
Keep the fish wire attached to the hardware to prevent it from falling back into the frame.

4. Install the Hitch:

Gently raise the hitch into position, guiding it over the mufflers.
Feed the end of the fish wires through the attachment holes in the hitch.
Install the conical washers (teeth side against the hitch) and hex nuts to hold the hitch in place.
For the hitch receiver, insert the bolt through the bracket and towhook, then attach the spacers, lock washer, and hex nut as shown in Figure 1.

5. Tighten Fasteners:

Torque all 7/16"-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).
Torque all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).

6. Reinstall Exhaust:

Raise the exhaust back into position and reattach all isolators removed in Step 1.

Safety Notes:

Always wear safety glasses during installation.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are securely tightened.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
Replace any damaged hitch or ball before use.
Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
