Typically those trailers will use the standard 4 flat plug which is what our Wiring Kits offer. If you have an RV Fifth Wheel or any other large type of trailer you will us a 7 pin trailer plug to control your electric trailer brakes. Tekonsha offers 7 pin trailer connector as well. Simply do a search above to see if there is a 7 wire trailer wiring available for hooking up your 7 way. If there is not you can use part number 85343 trailer wiring adapter to convert any 4-Flat into a 7-Way. In addition you will use part number 20506 which will include the rest of wiring needed for electric brake controls. Installation Instructions for 2018-Current Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain

Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- Torque Wrench

- Sockets: 15 mm, 11/16”
- T15 Torx Bit Socket
- 6-inch Socket Extension
- Exhaust Removal Pliers
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Muffler:
- Spray lubricant on the rubber hangers to ease removal.
- Ensure the exhaust is supported before removing the rubber hangers.
- Remove the following:
- (2) screws from the bottom of the rear fascia using a T15 Torx bit.
- (2) bolts from each rear exhaust hanger bracket using a 15 mm socket.
- Rubber isolator from the hanger in front of the muffler.
- Lower the exhaust one side at a time by gently pulling on the rear fascia.
- If needed, pull the wire harness off the passenger-side frame for additional clearance. Reinstall it after hitch installation.

Install Hardware:
- Feed the coiled end of the pull wire through an attachment hole in the frame and out through the access hole.
- Attach carriage bolts and spacers to the pull wire and pull them into position (3 per side). Leave the pull wire attached until the hitch is raised.

Install Hitch:
- Carefully raise the hitch into position without pushing the hardware back into the frame.
- Loosely install conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts.

Reinstall Muffler:
- Reverse the steps from Step 1 to reinstall the muffler.

Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten all 7/16-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 ft-lbs (68 Nm) using a torque wrench.

- (6) Spacer Block 1/4” x 7/8” x 3” (PN: HE-2370-000)
- (6) Conical Washer 7/16” (PN: 01292007)

- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Fuse and Relay Panel:
- Open the rear lift gate and remove the access panel on the driver’s side to locate the fuse and relay panel.
- Locate relay positions K1 and K3:
- If relays are present, the included relays will not be used.
- If no relays are present, install the included relays into positions K1 (Trailer Stop/Turn) and K3 (Trailer Stop/Turn).
Note: If no relay provisions are present (terminals missing from the relay cavity), the T-One without the tow prep package is required.

Locate the Trailer Harness Connector:
- Under the vehicle, behind the rear bumper on the driver’s side, locate the trailer harness connector.

Remove the Protective Cap:
- Remove the protective cap from the connector and store it in the glove compartment along with the installation instructions.
- Ensure the mating surfaces of the connectors are clean and free of dirt. Clean if necessary.

Connect the 6-Pin Tow-Plug Adapter:
- Insert the 6-pin tow-plug adapter into the connector and lock it into place.
- Ensure all connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.

Route and Secure the T-Connector Harness:
- Route the T-Connector harness rearward to the back of the bumper fascia.
- Secure the remainder of the T-One® Connector harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wire.

Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Mount the 4-flat connector end in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).

Test and Verify Installation:
- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

- Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed stated product ratings or the towing capacity specified in the vehicle owner’s manual.
