Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Trunk Side Panels:
- Inside the trunk, use plastic trim tools to open the driver-side panel to access the taillight. Repeat for the passenger side.
- Remove (2) plastic trunk stops on top of the taillights by turning counterclockwise.
2. Remove Taillights:
- Unplug the wiring harness from the taillight inside the trunk.
- Use an 8mm socket to remove (2) nuts securing the taillight.
- Gently remove the taillight and set it aside. Use a 10mm socket to remove (1) additional screw behind the taillight. Repeat for the other side.
3. Loosen Wheel Well Liner:
- Use a flat head screwdriver and T25 bit to separate the driver-side wheel well liner from the rear fascia.
- Remove (3) plastic rivets and (1) Torx screw from the rear wheel fender. Repeat for the passenger side.
4. Loosen Rear Underbody Appearance Panel:
- Disconnect the bottom of the fascia and appearance panel from the vehicle body.
- Use a flat head screwdriver to dislodge (2) plastic covers.
- Remove (7) screws from the panel (some models may have an 8th screw).
5. Remove Rear Bumper Fascia:
- Use plastic trim tools to remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near the wheel wells.
- Gently pull the fascia away and disconnect any wiring harness. Set it aside.
6. Remove Impact Bar Sensor:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove (5) screws from the sensor on top of the impact bar.
- Let the sensor hang down to gain access to the base plates of the impact bar. Save the screws for reinstallation.
7. Remove Impact Bar:
- Use a 15mm socket to remove (6 or 8) nuts securing the impact bar. Save the nuts for hitch installation.
- Remove the impact bar and return it to the vehicle owner.
8. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and loosely secure it with the factory nuts.
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all 10mm fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m).
9. Remove Bottom Panel:
- Use a flat head screwdriver to remove (2) screws and remove the plastic panel for access.
10. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the fascia, sensor piece, wiring harness, underbody appearance panel, fasteners, wheel liners, and taillights removed in previous steps.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect the hitch and all fasteners for proper tightness.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the trunk and locate the vehicle wiring inside the rear cargo area.
- Remove the threshold and felt cargo liner, being careful not to damage any mounting hardware or tabs.

Access the Wiring Connectors:
- Pull back the felt liners on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring connectors.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s wiring harness from the taillight assemblies on both sides, ensuring not to damage the locking tabs.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Lock the connectors securely into place.

Mount the Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-One® Connector harness with the provided cable ties to avoid damage or rattling. Ensure the harness avoids areas that may pinch, cut, or pinch wires.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box, such as an existing ground stud.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole if necessary and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to prevent damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® Connector end with the green wire along the threshold and behind the felt liner to the passenger-side taillight pocket.

Install the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle’s wiring connectors on the passenger side.
- Lock the connectors securely into place.

Route the Power Wire:
- Locate the black 12-gauge power wire.
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Power Wire Under the Vehicle:
- Starting at the front of the vehicle, route the black wire along the frame rail to the rear, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Route the black wire through the vent in the rear cargo area and connect it to the black wire from the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer to verify functionality.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, floor covering, and any other items removed during the installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
