Installation Instructions for Chevrolet & GMC Pickup Full Size (8' Box Only)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Existing Hex Bolts:
- If the vehicle is equipped with a factory step bumper, remove and discard the 12mm hex bolts from each end of the frame.
Install Reinforcement Brackets (For Vehicles Without Factory Step Bumper):
- Use the existing holes in the frame rails to bolt the reinforcement brackets inside the ends of the frame rails.
- Secure with:
  - (2) 1/2" x 1.25" hex bolts
  - (2) 1/2" hex nuts
  - (2) 1/2" lock washers
- Ensure the brackets rest against the frame rail lower flanges.
Position Hitch Receiver:
- Lift the receiver into position, centering it over the existing holes in the frame.
Secure Fasteners:
- For Vehicles Without Factory Step Bumper:
  - Install M12 x 1.75 x 45mm hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers through the receiver bracket, frame rail, and reinforcement brackets.
  - Secure with:
    - (2) 1/2" lock washers
    - (2) M12 x 1.75 hex nuts
- For Vehicles With Factory Step Bumper:
  - Install M12 x 1.75 x 45mm hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers through the receiver bracket into the frame weld nuts.
  - Discard unused M12 hex nuts, 1/2" x 1.25" hex bolts, 1/2" hex nuts, lock washers, and reinforcement brackets.
Enlarge Center Attachment Hole:
- Drill the center attachment hole to 9/16".
Install Remaining Fasteners:
- Place the provided blocks inside the frame rails and secure with the remaining fasteners as shown in the instructions.
Tighten All Fasteners:
- Torque all fasteners as follows:
  - 9/16" GR5 fasteners: 120 lb-ft (163 N*m)
  - M12 CL8.8 fasteners: 85 lb-ft (116 N*m)
  - 1/2" GR5 fasteners: 75 lb-ft (102 N*m)

Torque Specifications:

9/16" GR5 bolts: 120 lb-ft (163 N*m)
M12 CL8.8 bolts: 85 lb-ft (116 N*m)
1/2" GR5 bolts: 75 lb-ft (102 N*m)

Safety Notes:

Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
Always wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
