Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Chevrolet Malibu

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench
- 1/4” Socket
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- On both driver and passenger sides, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Carefully separate the connectors, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Clean all connectors to ensure proper connection.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 using the T-Connector end with the green wire on the passenger side.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch or break the wire.
Warning: Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks when routing the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the ring terminal of the fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® T-Connector black box in a flat, out-of-the-way area using the provided double-sided tape.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness, avoiding areas that could pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all panels, carpet, and clips removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the trunk when not in use.
