Installation Instructions for Jeep Renegade (2015-Current)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Loosen Wheel Well Fender:
- Use a Phillips screwdriver and a 10mm socket to remove (4) bolts and (1) plastic flange nut from the wheel well fender on the passenger side.

Remove Rubber Plugs:
- Use a flat head screwdriver to remove (1) plug from the bottom frame rail and (2) plugs from the outside frame rail on each side.
Note: For models with a factory tow hook, use a 21mm socket to remove the M14 bolts in these locations. Retain bolts for reinstallation and skip Step 3.

Drill Access Holes for Fasteners:
- Locate the area between the exhaust hanger bracket and the suspension mount on the frame rail.
- Use a 1” holesaw to drill an access hole on each side.
- Use pliers to bend the heat shield edge down, if necessary.

Lower Exhaust and Clear Caulk:
- Use a 13mm socket to remove (1) bolt from the exhaust hanger on each side and lower the muffler temporarily.
- Support the muffler to prevent damage.
- Use a utility knife to remove caulk near mounting holes and slightly bend the heat shield edge down on each side.

Install Hitch:
- Fishwire the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame through the drilled holes. Leave pull wires attached.
- Raise the hitch into position and carefully slide it over the exhaust hanger.
- Feed pull wires through bracket holes, remove pull wires, and loosely install conical washers and hex nuts.
- For models with a factory tow hook, loosely secure the factory M14 bolts to the hitch attachment holes.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all M14 fasteners to 115 lb-ft (156 N·m).

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the exhaust hanger and all fasteners removed from the wheel well fender in Steps 1 and 4.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Jeep Renegade

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Rear Tailgate:
- Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set aside all items carefully to avoid damage.

Remove Interior Trim Panels:
- On the driver and passenger sides, remove access panels to locate the rear of the taillight assemblies.
- Partially remove the interior trim panels to expose the taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- Locate the wiring harness in the trim panel area behind the taillight assembly. Ensure the connection points match the T-One® T-Connector ends.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- On the driver’s side, separate the vehicle wiring connectors without damaging the locking tabs.
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and secure it.

Route and Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger side.
- Repeat Step 4 for the passenger-side wiring harness.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat surface near the rear interior area and mount the T-One® T-Connector’s black box with the provided double-sided tape.

Route the Power Wire:
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box to the provided black wire using a yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow the existing wiring to the engine compartment up to the battery.
Warning: Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and the fuel tank when routing the wire.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the fuse holder’s ring terminal to the positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black power wire using a yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
