Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Kia Sorento

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Rear Hatch:
- Remove both the driver’s and passenger’s side taillights using a 10mm socket, and set them aside.

Remove Trim Panel:
- Underneath the driver’s side frame rail, remove the plastic trim panel fasteners securing the protective cover and set it aside.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness containing the yellow wire underneath the vehicle and up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted, and the locking tabs are engaged.

Mount the Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Ensure the epoxy side of the module is facing downward to prevent water buildup.
- Secure the remaining T-One® Connector harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or damage the wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
- If necessary, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness containing the green wire underneath the vehicle and up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the passenger’s side taillight pocket.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted, and the locking tabs are engaged.

Route the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Install the Power Wire:
- Starting from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge wire rearward along the frame rail, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire located on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all panels, threshold covers, and any other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Secure the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
